Wedding in Kazbegi

Kazbegi is a place where a wedding becomes an event of epic proportions. Mount Kazbek, rising 5,054 meters and capped in eternal snow, provides such a majestic backdrop that every frame looks like a magazine cover.

The crown jewel of Kazbegi is the Gergeti Trinity Church, soaring at 2,170 meters among the clouds. This 14th-century church, standing alone atop a mountain peak, has become one of the most recognizable images of Georgia and a place where couples from around the world exchange their vows.

The legendary Georgian Military Highway leading to Kazbegi is itself spectacular — the Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri Fortress, the Jvari Pass at 2,379 meters, and the Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument. Every stop is a new location for photography.

The stylish Rooms Hotel Kazbegi, with panoramic windows facing Mount Kazbek, offers an ideal venue for celebrations. The best time to visit is May through October, though even in winter the snow-covered mountains create a fairytale atmosphere. Kazbegi is approximately 2.5 hours from Tbilisi.
